It’s here
So, here’s the new novel. As I’ve mentioned, this is one I prepared earlier because it was written before BAGMAN, the first one I put out in July last year. The inspiration for this one was my life-long ambition to be better at the guitar. I’d just taken up playing again after a long gap so this meant that the narrator goes through a lot of the same things that I was going through.
If I’m honest, there’s quite a lot of me in the agonies, fears, insecurities and obsessions of that central character but I hope I have a tiny bit more self-knowledge. Writing the novel was a sort of therapy. If you read it, you’ll see why.
This one is a bit more serious than the first two books and also marks the conclusion of what I’ve called a kind of unofficial guitar trilogy. I don’t think I’ll be writing about guitars again for quite a while. And I know for certain that my next novel (due out this summer) will feature absolutely no guitars whatsoever. It’s something completely different. And that’s a promise. ‘Hooray!’ I hear some of you cry.
Back soon with some more writing-related nonsense.
