Incoming!

The funny thing (or very good thing) about being your own publishing house is that you get to decide what comes out when.  Occasionally, this will result in timetabling that would make a traditional publisher gasp in horror, promptly choking on their Dry Martini and possibly even swallowing the olive in the process.

For example, my last book BAGMAN HITS THE ROAD came out at the start of this year – barely two months ago.  So it’s clearly, far too soon to come up with something new.  Or is it?  Maybe that depends on what you mean by new.  My next novel comes into the category we all remember from Blue Peter: “Here’s one I prepared earlier”.  It was actually written before BAGMAN or its sequel but because it’s also about guitars, my thinking is that it may as well come out now to complete a kind of informal guitar trilogy (by which I mean that it’s not BAGMAN 3).

Why not leave it until later?  There’s good reason for that: I’ve just finished another novel that I want to put out in the summer.  It’s something completely different and incredibly doesn’t mention guitars once.  So, it makes sense (to me, at least) to publish the guitar book before the non-guitar, complete change, holiday-reading one.

So, there we are.  At some point in March, the new-old or old-new novel will arrive.  I’ll post again on launch day when all will be revealed.
